Naideposito na ng Commission on Elections (Comelec) ang source codes o computer program na gagamitin sa Automated Election System (AES) sa 2022 National and Local Elections sa May 9.
Dinala nina Comelec Executive Director Bartolome Sinocruz at Atty.
“It shall be kept in escrow with the BSP as mandated by the automation law. So, this is not only in compliance with the automation law, but also to secure our source code in the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas so as to ensure to the public that our elections this coming 2022 national and local elections will be clean, honest and credible one,” pahayag ni Comelec Commissioner Marlon Casquejo.
“The source code really is the heart and soul of the automated election system and the fact that we have the source code here where it is protected from all dangers, gives us certainty that the source code that we will be using on the election day is trustworthy,” ani Jimenez.
“When you go to the basement, only the BSP can open that vault. So Comelec cannot open that without the BSP. But once you enter that vault, that particular compartment where the AES source codes are stored can be opened only by Comelec and it would be the executive director who has that key, the key that’s for the dual padlock, the key to that and then you have the combination lock which is under the sole responsibility of the Comelec,” saad ni Guerrero.
Dagdag nito, “So the BSP cannot have access to that. We don’t know that combination.”
