DICT: Comelec system hindi na-‘hack,’ Smartmatic posibleng nakompromiso

Sinabi ng Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) na hindi na-‘hack’ ang sistema ng Commission on Elections (Comelec).

Ngunit, ayon pa rin sa DICT – Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center, posible naman na nalagay sa alanganin ang Smartmatic, ang software contractor ng Comelec.

“As far as stated by our good acting secretary Caictic, they (Comelec) said there was no hacking on the Comelec servers… We agree to that at this time,” sabi ni CICC Usec. Cezar Mancao sa Joint Congressional Oversight Committee on the Automated Election System (JCOC-AES) hearing.

Sabi pa niya; “And we also have found out that the ones with breach of the system as we have gathered from our sources…on the contractor of the Comelec, Smartmatic, we believe that their system is compromised, and that we are not also accusing them… at this moment.”

Magugunita na noong Enero 10, napalathala na na-’hack’ ang server ng Comelec at maaring may mga sensitibong datos ang nakuha.

Itinanggi naman agad ng Comelec ang ulat.
