DOLE, ipagpapatuloy ang nationwide labor inspection
Ipinag-utos ni Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III ang pagbabalik ng labor inspections sa bansa.
Sa Administrative Order No. 11, Series of 2022 na inilabas noong January 19, nagbaba ng direktiba ang kalihim sa labor inspectors na magsagawa ng routine inspections, complaint inspection, occupational safety and health standards investigation, at special inspection sa mga establisyemento hanggang December 31, 2022, maliban na lamang kung bawiin.
Inatasan ni Bello ang DOLE Regional Directors na mag-inspeksyon at mag-imbestiga sa mga establisyemento at workplace.
Sa ilalim ng Administrative Order, nasa 600 labor inspectors ang binigyan ng awtoridad para sa labor inspection activities.
Samantala, 126 technical safety inspectors naman ang awtorisado sa Technical Safety Inspection ng boilers, pressure vessels, internal combustion engines, elevators, hoisting equipment, electrical wirings, at iba pang mechanical equipment installation.
Inatasan din ang technical safety inspectors, na registered mechanical at electrical engineers, na magkasa ng inital review at evaluation ng mechanical at electrical plans para sa paglalabas ng Permit to Operate sa mechanical equipment at Certificate of Electrical Inspection para sa electrical wiring installations.
Pinayuhan din ni Bello ang hearing officers ukol sa mandatory conferences para sa inspeksyon.
Itinalaga naman ang 115 regional office personnel bilang Sheriff upang matiyak ang pagpapatupad ng writs of execution, implementasyon ng mga desisyon, at pagtalima sa final decisions at kautusan.
Umabot sa 90,327 establisyemento ang dumaan sa inspeksyon ng DOLE sa taong 2021.
