Publiko, binalaan sa mga nagpapanggap na BI employee sa Facebook

Nagbabala ang Bureau of Immigration (BI) sa publiko ukol sa bagong modus ng mga scammer sa Facebook.

Ayon kay BI Commissioner Jaime Morente, nakatanggap ang kanilang opisina ng mga ulat ukol sa mga indibiduwal na nagpapanggap bilang empleyado ng ahensya.

Nag-aalok ang mga pekeng empleyado ng serbisyo sa overseas workers upang ilegal na makabiyahe patungo sa Japan at Middle East.

“In one report, the scammers used the social media photos of one of our alien control officers to create a fake account, and offer his services in several Facebook groups online,” ani Morente.

Base pa sa ulat, nakakuha ang scammer ng P670,000 mula sa iba’t ibang biktima.

Hinikayat naman ni Morente ang mga biktima na agad i-report ang anumang scamming attempt sa mga awtoridad.

“Do not transact with these scammers who use the name of the Bureau for their illegal activities,” saad ng BI Chief at dagdag nito, “We do not condone such, and advice the public to report any attempts to local authorities as this is a type of scamming and cybercrime.”
