Amerikanong nahaharap sa 34 warrants dahil sa child pornography, timbog sa CDO
Arestado ng mga tauhan ng Bureau of Immigration (BI) ang isang Amerikanong pugante na may kinakaharap na mga kaso dahil sa child pornography.
Kinilala ni BI Intelligence Division Chief Fortunato Manahan, Jr. ang dayuhan na si Gregory Evans Nelson, 68-anyos.
Naaresto si Nelson sa bahagi ng Barangay Balulang sa Cagayan de Oro City.
Ayon kay Manahan, ikinasa ang BI Regional Intelligence Operations Unit (RIOU) 10 ng manhunt operation matapos makatanggap ng mga ulat mula sa US authorities na nahaharap ang dayuhan sa 34 arrest warrants.
Lumabas sa record na wala nang hawak na balidong pasaporte si Nelson makaraang bawiin ng U.S. government.
“This is one of our priority cases, since there is information that he is aware of the warrants against him, and he may attempt to hide to evade his arrest,” pahayag ni BI Commissioner Jaime Morente.
Dagdag nito, “The presence of such criminals poses a risk to our country’s women and children, hence he should immediately be deported and banned from returning.”
Sa ngayon, pansamantalang nakakulong si Nelson sa BI Detention Facility sa Davao City habang hinihintay ang paglipat nito sa BI Warden Facility sa Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig.
