Ibinahagi ng Department of Health (DOH) na dalawang tinamaan ng COVID 19 ang namatay at taglay nila ang Omicron variant.
Ang dalawa ang kauna-unahang nasawi na tinamaan ng itinuturing na dominant variant ngayon ng 2019 coronavirus.
Kabilang ang dalawa sa pinakahuling datos na sumailalim sa whole-genome sequencing.
Ayon sa kagawaran, kapwa senior citizens ang namatay, hindi pa bakunado at may pre-existing medical conditions.
Sinabi pa ng DOH na bagamat ang Omicron ay taglay ng maraming asymptomatic at may comorbidity, maituturing pa rin na delikado ang mga nakakatanda.
“Our data shows that those most at risk for fatalities are still the elderly and those with co-morbidities and unvaccinated,” ayon pa sa kagawaran.
