May paliwanag ang Department of Transportation (DOTr) sa mga negatibong reaksyon sa ipinatupad na “no vaccination, no ride/no entry” sa mga pampublikong transportasyon.

Ilang grupo at indibiduwal kasi ang tinawag na “anti-poor,” “draconian” o “punitive” ang naturang polisiya.

Giit ni Transportation Assistant Secretary Goddes Hope Libiran, “Mas anti poor at anti-life kung mahahawa at makakahawa ang ating mga kababayan dahil sila ay hindi bakunado.”

Dagdag pasanin aniya sa healthcare system ang pagkakaroon ng severe COVID-19 infections dahil sa non-vaccination result.

Kung makahawa sa mga public transport personnel, mas delikado aniya at mas marami ang maaapektuhan.

“We want to prevent a repeat of the public transport shutdown, like what happened in MRT, LRT and PNR in the past, as most front-facing passengers were infected with the virus,” ani Libiran.

Dagdag pa nito, “We are doing everything we can to maintain and keep our public transport operations safe and running.”
