83 dayuhang pugante, nahuli ng BI sa taong 2021
Binati ni Bureau of Immigration (BI) Commissioner Jaime Morente ang kanilang operatiba dahil sa pagkakaaresto ng 83 dayuhang pugante sa taong 2021.
Nahuli aniya ang mga pugante sa mga ikinasang operasyon ng mga miyembro ng BI Fugitive Search Unit (FSU).
Mas mataas ang bilang ng naaresto ng ahensya sa taong 2021 kumpara sa 55 dayuhan noong 2020.
Ayon kay BI FSU Chief Rendel Ryan Sy, pinakamarami sa listahan ng mga naaresto ang 55 South Koreans, sumunod ang walong Amerikano, pitong Chinese, tatlong Japanese, at tatlong Taiwanese.
Karamihan aniya sa mga naaresto ay sangkot sa fraud, economic crimes, cybercrimes, at sexual offenses.
Kabilang sa mga nahuli ng BI sina Lee Honhee at Seo Jungnam, kapwa South Korean nationals, noong January 2021.
“Despite the pandemic, our operatives remain alert and continue our investigations against these illegal aliens, who thought they can evade justice by hiding in our country,” pahayag ni Morente.
Dagdag nito, “We will do everything in our power to arrest them, deport them, and ensure they are never able to return here.”
