Pagkamatay ng apat na bilanggo sa riot sa Caloocan City Jail, iimbestigahan ng PNP

Masusing iimbestigahan ng Philippine National Police (PNP) ang nangyaring riot sa ilang persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) sa Caloocan City Jail.

Sumiklab ang riot na nagresulta ang riot sa pagkasawi ng apat na indibiduwal bandang 4:00, Lunes ng hapon (January 10).

Sa inisyal na ulat ng Caloocan Police, nagkapikunan ang ilang bilanggo sa isang coin game na tinatawag na Cara y Cruz.

Pinatahimik ng jail guards ng Caloocan City Jail ang mga grupo at matapos ito, napansin na wala nang buhay ang apat na preso habang sugatan ang iba.

Nakilala ang mga nasawi na sina Hans Omar, Sherwin Perez at John Patrick Chicko, at isa pang bilanggo na ipinapaalam pa sa pamilya nito.

Hindi naman bababa sa 30 preso ang sugatan sa riot.

“The police is further investigating this incident in coordination with the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) because it involves mutiple casualties,” pahayag ni PNP Chief General Dionardo Carlos.

Dagdag nit, “The PNP will also look at the presence of various opposing gangs inside the jail facility that may have started the riot because those who died belong to different groups.”

Ipinag-utos na rin ng pambansang pulisya na magsagawa ng random inspection upang matukoy kung mayroong kontrabando sa loob ng piitan.
