Duterte sa mga kapitan: Pigilang lumabas ng bahay ang mga hindi bakunado kontra COVID-19
Inatasan ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang mga barangay captain na hanapin ang mga hindi pa bakunadong indibidwal at pagbawalang lumabas ng bahay.
Utos ito ni Pangulong Duterte sa gitna ng muling pagtaas ng kaso ng COVID-19 sa bansa.
“I’m now giving orders to the barangay captain to look for those persons who are not vaccinated and just would request them or order them, if you may, to stay put. And if he refuses, he goes out of the house and goes around in the community or maybe wherever magpunta, he can be restrained. And if he refuses, then the barangay captain being a person in authority is empowered now to arrest the recalcitrant persons — that is in addition to the police power, the agents of a person in authority,” pahayag ng Pangulo.
Ayon sa Pangulo, tungkulin niya na pangalagaan ang kalusugan ng bawat isa.
“Hindi naman agad arestuhin. Pakiusap lang. Hindi ka nagpabakuna, then you put everyone in jeopardy,” pahayag ng Pangulo.
Ayon sa Pangulo, maaring gamitin ng mga barangay captain ang mga sibilyan para tumulong sa pag-monitor sa galaw ng mga indibidwal na hindi pa bakunado kontra COVID-19.
