Anti-Child Marriage Bill ganap ng batas – BH Partylist Rep. Bernadette Herrera
Pinasalamatan ni Bagong Henerasyon Partylist Representative Bernadette Herrera si Pangulong Duterte sa pagpirma para maging ganap na batas ang End Child Marriage Bill.
Sinabi ni Herrera na maituturing na landmark bill ang naturang panukala na ngayon ay Republic Act 11596.
“I was able to confirm in Malacañang that the End Child Marriage Bill, which we fought for and championed in Congress for many years, has now been signed into law,” ayon sa mambabatas.
Giit ni Herrera, malaking tagumpay nang maituturing ang batas para mawakasan ang maagang pagpapakasal ng mga bata.
“This law will help protect children, especially young girls, and hopefully change the trajectory of their lives,” sabi pa ni Herrera, na awtor at sponsor ng panukala at bahagi ng bicameral conference committee na umaayos ng bersyon ng panukala ng Kamara at Senado.
Dagdag pa nito; “This new law is a big step towards ensuring that the children’s rights will be upheld and their well-being and future secured. Thank you PRRD for giving a chance to this law.”
Ibinahagi pa ni Herrera na paglabag na sa batas ang pagpapakasal ng isang bata, gayundin ang pagsasama ng bata at matanda ng walang basbas ng kasal.
Pagmumultahin ng P40,000 at mahaharap sa hanggang 12 taon na pagkakakulong ang sinumang mag-aayos at magbasbas ng ‘child marriage.’
