Palasyo umaasang maaayos pa ang gusot sa pagitan ni Obiena, PATAFA

Umaasa ang Palasyo ng Malakanyang na maayos pa rin ang gusot sa pagitan nina pole vaulter EJ Obiena at Philippine Athletics and Track and Field Association (PATAFA).

Pahayag ito ng Palasyo matapos ang naging pasya ng PATAFA na tanggalin na si Obiena sa pederasyon ng National Training Pool of Athletes.

Ayon kay Cabinet Secretary at acting presidential spokesman Karlo Nograles, patuloy na susuportahan ng Palasyo si Obiena at lahat ng atleta sa bansa.

“We continue to support all of our athletes, including our star pole vaulter EJ Obiena and we hope that whatever disagreements that he may have… between EJ and the Philippine Athletics Track and Field Association, hopefully they will all be threshed out for the allegations of fund misuse and other such allegations,” pahayag ni Nograles.

“Documents, we have been told, have already been sent to the Philippine Sports Commission and the Commission on Audit, so let us await further development in that regard or if they will issue a statement on that matter,” dagdag ni Nograles.

Bukod sa pagtanggal kay Obiena, sasampahan din ng kasong estafa ng Patafa ang pole vaulter dahil sa umano’y hindi pagbabayad sa kanyang coach na si Vitaly Petrov ng 6,000 euros o P360,000 mula noong May hanggang August 2018.

Pero ayon kay Nograles, mas makabubuting hintayin na lamang ang development sa naturang isyu.
