Bus companies, PUV operators, terminals pinatututukan ng DOTr ukol sa pagsunod sa health protocols

Kasabay ng pagtaas sa Alert Level 3 ng Metro Manila, ipinag-utos ng Department of Transportation (DOTr) sa bus companies, PUV operators at transport terminals na istriktong ipatupad ang health protocols sa naturang rehiyon.

Tumataas kasi muli ang naitatalang kaso ng COVID-19 sa National Capital Region (NCR).

Sa inilabas na memorandum noong January 2, ipinaalala ng Land Transportation Office (LTO) sa land-based transportation stakeholders na pangasiwaan ang mga drayber at kundoktor sa pagtalima sa health protocols, lalo na ang 70 porsyentong maximum passenger capacity sa public utility vehicles (PUVs).

Naglabas din ng memorandum ang Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) sa PUV operators, drivers at mga pasahero na huwag kaligtaan ang pagsunod sa 7 Commandments sa pampublikong transportasyon.

Babala nito, maikokonsidera bilang paglabag sa kondisyon ng prangkisa kapag hindi tumalima rito.

Ani Transportation Secretary Art Tugade, ipatutupad pa rin ang 70-percent maximum passenger capacity sa NCR upang matugunan ang pangangailangan sa public transport services.

“With the continued rise of COVID-19 cases in NCR, the DOTr enjoins our land-based transport operators to remind passengers to strictly observe minimum health protocols and ensure that the maximum allowable passenger capacity is followed,” pahayag nito.

Dagdag ng kalihim, “We cannot let our guard down. Following the government’s minimum health protocol is for our greater good. We must remain vigilant so we can reverse the uptick of cases in the country.”

Sinabi naman ni DOTr Assistant Secretary for Road Transport and Infrastructure Mark Steven Pastor na tututukan ng sector agencies ang pagpapatupad ng 70-percent seating capacity.

Samantala, humiling si Tugade sa publiko ng kooperasyon sa pagsunod sa minimum public health standards.

Epektibo ang Alert Level 3 sa NCR hanggang January 15, 2022.
