Mga tinaguriang ‘Heroes of Odette’ binigyang pagpupugay
Binigyang pagpupugay ng AP Party-list ang mga tinaguriang “Heroes of Odette” dahil sa pagsasakripisyo para maibalik ang kuryente sa mga lugar na sinalanta ng bagyong Odette.
Gumawa sina AP Party-list nominees Ronnie Ong at Chris Tio ng tribute video upang magbigay ng karangalan sa linemen, engineers, at iba pang frontline personnel ng Visayan Electric Company (VISELCO), ang distribution utility ng Cebu City at malaking parte ng Metro Cebu.
Niregaluhan din sila ng iba’t ibang pagkain na kanilang pinagsaluhan noong Noche Buena.
Ayon kay Ong, namangha at nawasak ang kaniyang puso nang marinig ang istoya ng mga lineman at electrical engineer ng VISELCO.
Mayroon din aniyang bahay at pamilya ang mga lineman at electrical engineer ngunit inuna nila ang kanilang tungkulin.
“Many of them lost their homes and their families were also in a dire situation but they chose to serve our people first. In my book, they are heroes. They are the Heroes of Odette,” pahayag ni Ong.
Dagdag nito, “That is why we decided to make a tribute just to thank them for their sacrifice.”
Base sa pinakahuling bulletin, iniulat ng VISELCO na naibalik na ang kuryente ng 98,321 sa 474,182 apektadong customer, at 288 o 52.9 porsyento sa 544 power line segments, sa loob ng franchise area.
Bahagi ang naturang party-list ng pagtutulungan sa pagbuo ng Wings of Hope Ph para mapadali ang pag-airlift at pamamahagi ng relief goods sa mga lugar na tinamaan ng bagyo.
