Sen. Cayetano sa DepEd: Kumbinsihin ang LGUs sa face-to-face classes

Pinagbilinan ni Senator Pia Cayetano ang Department of Education (DepEd) na patuloy na ipaliwanag at kumbinsihin ang mga lokal na pamahalaan sa kahalagahan ng face-to-face classes.

Ito aniya ay napakahalaga dahil para ito matiyak na walang mapapag-iwanan na mag-aaral.

Ginawa ni Cayetano ang pagpapaalala sa pagdinig ng Senate Committee on Basic Education ukol sa pilot testing ng limited face-to-face classes.

Binanggit nito ang mga obserbasyon ng ilang international organizations, maging ng DepEd, sa pag-aalala ng ilang lokal na pamahalaan sa muling pagbubukas ng kanilang mga paaralan.

“I like to see more efforts in engagement. Of course, we can’t force them (LGUs) but we need the LGU to be willing partners here, and we really need to exert more effort, more engagement because otherwise they will be responsible for the children in their locality being left behind because of their refusal to be open about these things,” sabi pa ni Cayetano sa mga kinatawan ng DepEd.
