Regulated sale and use ng vape inaprubahan sa Senado
Sa botong 19-2-2, inaprubahan sa third and final reading ang panukala para sa pagkakaroon ng regulasyon sa pagbenta at paggamit ng vaporized nicotine products o vape.
Sa ilalim ng Senate Bill No. 2239, ang Vaporized Nicotine Products Regulation Act, tanging ang mga nasa edad 18 pataas ang maaring bumili ng mga produkto at kinakailangan nilang magpakita ng ID na may edad nila bago sila makakabili.
Tanging ang mga sellers o distributors lamang din na rehistrado sa Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) o Securities and Exchange Commission ang maaing magbenta online ng vape products.
Ang mga tindahan naman ay dapat may distansiyang 100 metro pataas sa mga eskuwelahan, playground at iba pang pasilidad na para sa mga menor de edad.
Hindi rin maaring iendorso ang mga produkto ng mga kilalang personalidad gayundin ng social media influencers.
Ayon kay Senate President Pro Tempore Ralph Recto, ang sponsor ng panukala, mabuting alternatibo ang vape products sa mga nais ng tumigil sa paninigarilyo.
“There will be less death and less expense on the part of society in treating patients. And that is the direction where many countries, more developed economies are moving toward,” sabi pa ni Recto.
