Drilon: 12 taon na kulong, P200,000 multa sa trolls, fake account users

Totoong pangalan at phone number ang dapat gamitin sa paggawa ng social media accounts.

Ito ang naisip na paraan ni Senate Minority Leader Frank Drilon para labanan ang mga trolls ang fake social media account users.

Ginawa ito ni Drilon sa pagtalakay sa itinulak na SIM Card Registration Act.

This new provision will prevent anyone from making anonymous accounts online. We have to cure trolls that are spreading as fast as the virus that we are battling today. Troll is a virus that hides behind anonymity and continues to spread nothing but hatred and disinformation,” sabi ng senador.

Sa kanyang panukala, ang mga mahuhuling trolls at fake account users ay maaring makulong ng hanggang 12 taon at P200,000 multa, maging ang gagamit ng mga pekeng pangalan sa pag-rehistro ng SIM card.

Binanggit pa ni Drilon na ang pagpaparehistro ng phone number sa paggawa ng online accounts ay ginagawa na ng ilang email providers tulad ng GMail ng Google bilang bahagi ng kanilang ‘two step verification.’
