‘Motorcycle-only checkpoints’ pinalagan ng commuter partylist group

By Jan Escosio December 17, 2021 - 12:24 PM

“These checkpoints notoriously single out motorcycle riders and unfairly discriminate against them,” sabi ni PASAHERO spokesperson Atty. Homer Alinsug.

“While four-wheel vehicles are subjected to mere visual search, motorcyclists are thoroughly subjected to unnecessary physical searches, such as physical removal of U-box contents and verification of documents,” himutok pa ni Alinsug.

“If such bill is passed, then it would be a huge step towards motorcycle equality and would prevent this ultimately discriminatory practice from occurring in the future,” sabi pa ng tagapagsalita ng Passengers and Riders Organization Inc., na kumakatawan sa milyong-milyong komyuter at pasahero sa bansa.
