Naglabas na ang Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) ng bagong desinyo ng P1,000 banknote.
Ayon kay BSP Governor Benjamin Diokno, aprubado ng National historical Institute ang bagong hitsura ng P1,000 banknote.
Inaprubahan na rin ng Monetary Board at Office of the President ang pagpapalabas ng bagong pera.
Ayon kay Diokno, sa susunod na taon, ire-release na sa publiko ang bagong P1,000 banknote.
Nakalagay sa bagong banknote ang Philippine eagle sa harap at pinalitan ang mga bayaning sina Vicente Lim, Josefa Llanes Escoda at Jose Abad Santos.
