Tatlong pasahero mula South Africa, Burkin Faso at Egypt positibo sa COVID-19

Positibo sa COVID-19 ang tatlong pasahero na galing sa South Africa, Burkin Faso at Egypt.

Pahayag ito ng Department of Health sa gitna ng bagong banta ng COVID-19 na Omicron.

Ayon kay Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire, 253 na biyahero ang galing sa South Africa, tatlo sa Burkina Faso at 541 mula sa Egypt ang dumating sa bansa mula noong November 15 hanggang November 29.

Tig-isa sa mga pasahero mula sa tatlong nabanggit na bansa ang nag-positibo sa virus.

Ayon kay Vergeire, ipadadala sa Philippine Genome Center ang resulta para sa whole-genome sequencing.

Nabatid na isang 23-anyos na overseas Filipino worker ang nag-positibo sa COVID-19 mula South Africa at dumatiing sa bansa noong November 16.

Unang na-detect ang Omicron variant sa South Africa.
