Health workers, dapat exempted sa number coding
Hinimok ni Anakalusugan Rep. Mike Defensor ang Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) na gawing exempted ang mga medical professional at iba pang health personnel sa muling pagpapatupad ng number coding.
“They should be exempted from this vehicle volume reduction scheme to allow them to do their job especially in case of emergencies,” paliwanag ng mambabatas.
Ipatutupad ang number coding simula 5:00 ng hapon hanggang 8:00 ng gabi araw-araw, maliban lamang tuwing holiday at weekend.
Sa sitwasyon ng mga hospital personnel sa umaga, dapat aniya silang pahintulutang makauwi agad nang hindi kailangang maghintay hanggang 8:00 ng gabi.
“Those working in government hospitals usually end their duty at 5 p.m. They should be allowed to travel at once, if they have vehicles, and be with their loved ones, instead of passing time in their workplaces or in malls where they would be exposed to the highly infections new coronavirus and its variants,” giit ni Defensor.
Para naman sa mga nagtatrabaho tuwing night shift, dapat din aniya silang payagang makapunta sa mga ospital o health facilities sa gitna ng three-hour period.
“They do critical, life-and-death-related work in hospitals, which obviously cannot wait for three hours to be done,” punto nito.
Tiwala naman ang kongresista na pakikinggan ni MMDA Chairman Benhur Abalos ang kaniyang apela.
Iminungkahi rin nito sa MMDA na huwag nang ipa-apply ang health workers para sa exemption.
“They should just present their Professional Regulation Commission license or hospital-health facility ID when flagged down by traffic enforcers,” ani Defensor.
Samantala, suportado rin ng mambabatas ang hiling ng mga pribadong negosyo sa national vaccination task force na payagan silang ibigay sa kanilang mga empleyado ang sobrang COVID-19 vaccine bilang booster shots.
“Let us authorize them to use it as booster shots to give their personnel added protection from the virus, particularly the newly discovered Omicron variant,” pahayag nito.
