Sa katatapos na 2021 Freedom of Information (FOI) Awards ceremony, iginawad ng Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO), sa pamamagitan ng Freedom of Information – Project Management Office (FOI-PMO) sa National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) ang FOI Champion Award sa Agencies, Bureaus, Councils and Commissions sa National Government Agency (NGA) category. Dinaig ng NTC ang pitong agency nominees para sa FOI Champion mula sa186 NGAs na nasa eFOI portal.
Sa tatlong sunod na taon, kinilala ang NTC bilang consistent Top Performing Agency sa FOI Program Implementation at maging ang kanilang FOI Officer ay consistently awarded.
Sa taong 2021, isang Plaque of Appreciation ang muling iginawad sa NTC bilang isa sa Top Requested and Performing Agencies na may 1000 above requests at mayroong 90 porsyentong closed transactions sa eFOI portal.
Ipinagkaloob din kay NTC FOI Officer Ms. Divina N. Daquioag ang Special Citation Award, FOI Program Director’s Award at Grace Under Pressure Award sa pagiging isa sa pitong Best FOI Officers mula sa 4,322 FOI Officers na itinalaga sa iba’t ibang ahensya ng pamahalaan.
Tumanggap ng award mula kay PCOO Undersecretary Kristian R. Ablan, sa pangalan ng NTC, sina Ms. Divina N. Daquioag, NTC FOI Officer II, Atty. Ricardo Casimiro, ng NTC Region 9, Atty. Alan Felix Macaraya, Jr. ng NTC Region 7, Engr. Nelson C. Daquioag, OIC Director ng NTC Region 2, Ms. Sophia Lynn Lumantod, OIC Director ng NTC Region 7.
Inihayag naman ni NTC Commissioner Cordoba na, “Rest assured that the NTC, through its FOI Officers’ daily intervention in the eFOI portal and its standard platforms of filing FOI requests, will continue to abide by the principles of the FOI Program implementation as we constantly strive to render transparent, fast and reliable public service to the Filipino people.”
Pinasalamatan ni Cordoba ang lahat ng NTC Branch at Regional Directors, at FOI Officers sa buong bansa sa pagtalima sa isinusulong na programa ng FOI. Pinapuruhan din nito ang Regulation Branch ng NTC sa pagiging top requested branch na matagumpay na nakasunod sa lahat ng requested information.
Idinagdgag ni Cordoba na patuloy na susuportahan ng NTC ang pagpasa sa FOI Bill na kasalukuyang nakabinbin sa Kongreso.
