2,000 rebelde napatay, sumuko sa Eastern Mindanao

Simula noong unang araw ng nakaraang Enero hanggang kahapon, umabot na sa 2,000 rebelde sa Eastern Mindanao ang napatay, sumuko at nagbalik-loob sa gobyerno.

Ibinahagi ito ni AFP Eastern Mindanao Command commander, Lt. Gen. Greg Almerol at aniya sa bilang, 66 ang napatay, 127 ang nahuli at 586 ang sumuko.

May 1,200 pa ang binawi na ang pagsuporta sa NPA.

Bukod dito, 600 ibat-ibang armas at 87 anti-personnel mines ang nakumpiska, bukod pa sa pagkakadiskubre ng 180 kuta ng mga rebelde.

Dagdag pa ni Almerol  ang kanilang tagumpay laban sa NPA ay bunga ng pagkasa nila ng ‘focused military operations,’ gayundin ng kanilang mga epektibong istratehiya.

“With no letup in our intensified combat operations, coupled with the strong support from the Local Government Units and the populace, we are optimistic that we can dismantle the remaining Guerilla Fronts in Eastern Mindanao and finally make way for unhampered peace and development,” aniya.
