Paglabag sa health protocols ituturing ng Comelec na election offenses
Inanunsiyo ng Commission on Elections na ang paglabag sa health and safety protocols ay ituturing na rin election offenses simula sa unang araw ng campaign period.
Ang pagsusuot ng face mask at face shield, pagpapanatili ng one meter distancing, regular na paglilinis ng mga kamay, maging ang tamang paraan ng pag-ubo at pagbahing ang mga itinuturing na tamang health protocols sa Comelec Resolution 10730 na may petsang Nobyembre 17.
Ito ay alinsunod na rin sa pagpapatupad ng Fair Election Law.
“Any violation of Fair Elections Act and these Rules shall constitute an election offense punishable under the first and second paragraph of Section 264 of the Omnibus Election Code and other pertinent laws, rules and regulations, whenever applicable,” ayon sa resolusyon.
Opisyal na magsisimula ang pangangampaniya ng mga kandidato sa national position sa darating na Pebrero 8, samantalang Marso 25 naman para sa mga local candidates at kapwa magtatapos sa Mayo 7.
