Nahuli ng mga ahente ng Bureau of Immigration (BI) ang isang Amerikanong pugante, araw ng Lunes.
Ayon kay BI Fugitive Search Unit (FSU) Chief Rendel Ryan Sy, naaresto si Paul Scott Finch, 51-anyos, sa bahagi ng Sito Paraway sa Barangay Dulangan sa Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro.
Kasunod ito ng warrant of deportation na inilabas sa unang bahagi ng Nobyembre.
“Our counterparts from the US government recently shared information about his (Finch’s) crimes,” ani Sy.
Agad aniya silang nagsagawa ng manhunt operation at nadiskubreng nagtatago sa probinsya ng Mindoro.
Napaulat na si Finch ay nahaharap sa dalawang arrest warrants na inilabas ng Walton County Superior Court sa Monroe, Georgia.
“His passport has already been revoked by the US government, making him an undocumented alien as well,” pahayag pa ni Sy.
Binati naman ni BI Commissioner Jaime Morente ang FSU dahil sa matagumpay na pag-aresto ng pugante.
“Despite the pandemic, our officers take the risk and pursue these cases to ensure that these illegal aliens are arrested and deported,” pahayag ni Morente at dagdag nito, “We remain firm in our goal to rid the country of these undesirables to ensure the safety of Filipinos.”
Sa ngayon, pansamantalang nakakulong si Finch sa holding facility ng ahensya sa Taguig habang hinihintay ang deportation nito.
Kabilang na rin ang pangalan ng dayuhan sa blacklist ng BI.
