QC, may sarili nang storage facility para sa mga bakuna

Para lalo pang mapaigting ang local public health system, pinasinayaan na ng Quezon City government ang isang cold room at storage facility para sa mga bakuna.

Ayon kay Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte, ang 105-square meter facility na may medical grade walk-in freezers ay mayroong pitong units (5.0 Horsepower) at 1 unit (3.0 Horsepower) Wall Mounted Unit Coolers na aabot ng 2 – 8 degrees Celsius at negative temperature.

Kaya nitong mag-imbak ng mga bakuna kontra COVID-19 gaya ng Pfizer, AstraZeneca, at Sinovac.

Mayroong digital temperature control at monitoring na konektado sa alarm system ang pasilidad para masigurong ligtas at hindi nakokompromiso ang kalidad ng mga bakuna.

Ayon kay Belmonte, mayroong kakayahan ang pasilidad na mag-imbak ng 20,000 vials sa Ultra Low Freezers (-60 to – 80 deg C), 10,000 vials sa Chest Type Freezers (-15 to -25 deg C), at 100,000 hanggang 500,000 vials sa cold storage (2 to 8 deg C).

“This is a manifestation of how important public health is for us. We can say that we have come full circle in addressing this pandemic. From testing, isolating, vaccinating and now storing supplies of vaccines for longer shelf life,” pahayag ni Belmonte.

Nabatid na na ang tatuang pasilidad ang pinakamalaking cold room at storage facility ng lokal na pamahalaan.
