Deployment ban ng Filipino nurses kinuwestiyon ni Sen. Dick Gordon

Sinabi ni Senator Richard Gordon na paglabag sa Saligang Batas ang pagpapatupad ng deployment ban sa Filipino nurses.

“Violation ng Constitution ‘yan. You have no right to stop somebody seeking employment abroad. In fact, kung gusto nila kahit may giyera di mo puwede pigilan ‘yan,” diin ni Gordon sa deliberasyon ng 2022 budget ng Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).

Kamakailan, inanunsiyo ng Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) na suspindido muli ang pagpapadala ng Filipino nurses sa ibang bansa dahil naabot na ang limit na 5,000 kada taon noon pang Hunyo.

Base sa datos mula sa Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) may 512,719 licenses nurses sa bansa, ngunit 165,361 lamang ang nagta-trabaho sa mga pampubliko at pribadong pasilidad.

Katuwiran ni Gordon, bukod sa kikita ang Filipino nurses sa ibang bansa para buhayin ang kanilang pamilya, nakakatulong din sila sa pagpapasigla ng ekonomiya ng bansa.
