Inaprubahan na ng Food and Drug Administration (FDA) ang emergency use authorization (EUA) application ng Covovax vaccine bilang pangontra sa COVID-19.
Sa Laging Handa Public Briefing, sinabi ni FDA director-general Eric Domingo na maari nang gamitin ang mga bakuna sa mga indibidwal na 18-anyos pataas.
Base aniya sa pag-aaral, 89.7 percent ang efficacy rate ng Novavax laban sa COVID-19.
Nasa 21 araw ang pagitan ng first at second dose.
Sinabi pa ni Domingo na maganda ang safety profile ng Novavax at very mild lamang ang epekto sa katawan ng tao.
