P54-M halaga ng kontrabando, nasamsam sa Quiapo
Nasabat ng Bureau of Customs (BOC) ang ilang pekeng produkto sa isang warehouses sa bahagi ng 7th floor QQ Mall sa Quiapo, Manila noong November 15.
Sa bisa ng Letter of Authority (LOA) na inilabas ni Commissioner Rey Leonardo Guerrero, nadiskubre ng ahensya sa pamamagitan ng Port of Manila-District Office (POM-DO), Intellectual Property Rights Division–Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service (IPRD-CIIS) sa ilalim ng Intelligence Group, Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), at Armed Forces of the Philippines ang mga kontrabando.
Sa isinagawang inspeksyon, tumambad ang iba’t ibang kagamitan na may tatak na Regatta, Penshoppe, Oxygen/Oxgn, Nike, Tommy Hilfiger, Adidas, Prada at iba pa.
Tinatayang aabot sa P54,000,000 ang halaga ng mga kontrabando.
Posible itong maharap sa kasong paglabag sa Republic Act 10863 o Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (CMTA) at Republic Act 8293 o Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines (IPCP).
Nag-ugat ang implementasyon ng LOA mula sa reklamo ng kumpanyang Golden ABC, Inc., ang rehistradong brand owner ng Regatta, Penshoppe, at Oxygen/Oxgn, na nagbigay impormasyon ukol sa pasilidad.
