DepEd, naalarma sa napaulat na pagpasok ng armadong uniformed personnel sa isang paaralan

Napaulat sa Department of Education (DepEd) ang insidente ukol sa pagkakaroon ng mga unipormadong tauhan bitbit ang kanilang armas sa loob ng isa sa pilot schools ng limited face-to-face classes.

Base sa field report, bahagi ang mga naturang pulis upang masiguro ang seguridad ng isang opisyal ng lokal na pamahalaan na bumisita sa paaralan.

Upang maiwasan ang kahalintulad na insidente sa hinaharap, pinaaalalahanan ng kagawaran ang field officials at puno ng paaralan na mahigpit na ipatupad ang National Policy Framework on Learners and Schools as Zones of Peace (DepEd Order No. 32, s. 2019).

Nakasaad sa polisiya na “Schools, as a general rule, should be free from the presence of armed combatants, whether they be from government forces or armed groups. Armed force protection units from government forces, if needed, shall be situated proximate to the school and not inside the school.”

Nagpasalamat naman ang DepEd sa suporta ng iba’t ibang stakeholders at mga katuwang para muling maisagawa ang face-to-face classes.

Ngunit sabi ng DepEd, dapat laging sumunod sa mga umiiral na patakaran sa mga paaralan.

Nangako ang DepEd na patuloy silang makikipagtulungan sa stakeholders para masigurong nasusunod ang mga alituntunin sa Schools as Zones of Peace.
