Binuksan na ng Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) ang footbridge sa EDSA Buendia Southbound na layong makapagbigay ng ligtas na access sa bagong loading/unloading bay para sa bus carousel sa naturang lugar.
Sa inagurasyon, sinabi ni MMDA Chairman Benhur Abalos na makatutulong ang footbridge upang maibsan ang pagsisikip ng trapiko sa lugar at magiging mas ligtas ang mga commuter.
“Buendia is one of the busiest intersections in terms of pedestrian traffic and having this overpass for them to use will make their trips easy, secured, and safe,” pahayag nito.
Nakakonekta ang footbridge sa MRT pedestrian overpass sa EDSA Southbound na kayang maserbisyuhan ang mga taong papunta sa Makati Central Business District at pabalik.
Makakadaan din sa naturang footbridge ang mga commuter mula sa Bonifacio Global City.
Samantala, isinasagawa na ang konstruksyon ng mga footbridge sa Tramo, Taft, at Roxas Boulevard para sa EDSA Bus Carousel.
Nagpahayag naman si MRT-3 OIC General Manager, Assistant Secretary Eymard Eje ng suporta sa MMDA.
