Bagong istasyon ng Pasig River Ferry Service binuksan sa Pasig City
Pinangunahan ni Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Chairman Benhur Abalos ang pagbubukas ng Kalawaan Station, ang bago at karagdagang istasyon ng Pasig River Ferry Service (PRFS) sa Pasig City.
Ayon kay Abalos layon ng bagong istasyon na mahikayat ang maraming residente ng Pasig City na subukan ang alternatibong paraan ng pagbiyahe lalo na ngayong Kapaskuhan.
Sa ngayon, may 12 ferry stations na ang ferry service sa Ilog Pasig.
Diin pa nito, kritikal ang ferry service ngayon may pandemya dahil hindi pa rin nagbabalik sa normal ang sistema ng pampublikong-transportasyon sa Metro Manila.
Ibinahagi pa ng opisyal na nalalapit na ang pagbubukas ng karagdagan pang istasyon, ang Quinta at Marikina.
“We want to serve residents of San Mateo and other parts of Rizal. This will be our new gateway, not just to address traffic, but also keep intact the rich cultural heritage of the Pasig River,” sabi nito.
