Deployment ng Filipino nurses at healthcare workers sa ibang bansa suspindido muli

Sinuspindi muli ng Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) ang pagpapadala ng Filipino nurses at healthcare workers sa ibang bansa.

Ito, ayon kay Labor Sec. Silvestre Bello III, ay dahil inabot na ang 6,500 limit para sa bilang ng mga Filipino nurses na maaring payagan na makapag-trabaho sa ibang bansa.

Unang itinakda sa 5,000 ang limitasyon, ngunit dinagdagan ito ng 1,500 ngayon taon bunsod na rin ng apila ng healthcare workers.

“Naubos na yun kaya hinto muna natin ang pagdedeploy ng mga nurses,” sabi pa ng kalihim.

Unang inanunsiyo ni POEA Administrator Bernard Olalia ang abiso na inihinto na muna ang pagproseso at deployment ng health care workers.

“The processing, issuance of overseas employment certificate (OECs) and deployment of new hires for nurses, nursing aides and nursing assistants are suspended effective immediately,” ayon sa inilabas na advisory.

Samantala, maari pa rin makalabas ng bansa ang mga nakakuha na ng kanilang overseas employment certificates bago pa nailabas nhg POEA ang abiso.
