CHR sinabing dapat may iba pang ayuda sa jeepney drivers bukod sa fuel subsidy

Hinimok ng Commission on Human Rights (CHR) ang gobyerno na ikunsidera ang pagbibigay ng ibang uri ng tulong sa mga jeepney drivers bukod sa fuel subsidy.

Sa inilabas na pahayag, ayon sa CHR malaking tulong ang P1 billion fuel subsidy sa mga jeepney drivers na kabilang sa mga lubhang apektado ng pandemya.

Ayon kay CHR spokesperson Jacqueline Ann de Guia kabilang sa mga maaring maibigay ay food, health and nutritional assistance.

Dagdag pa nito, umaasa ang CHR na agad na maibibigay sa mga drivers ang subsidiya sa krudo.

“We are also hopeful that the subsidy program will be swiftly implemented given the urgency of the plight of passenger jeepney drivers. Further, the Commission equally expects utmost transparency in the implementation to ensure that PUJ drivers will truly benefit from the program towards the upliftment of their quality of life and dignity,” sabi pa ni de Guia.
