Pinasinayaan na ang natapos na expansion project sa Port of Puerto Princesa, Huwebes ng hapon.
Pinangunahan ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang inaguration ceremony sa bagong project sa nasabing pantalan, kasama sina Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Art Tugade, at Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) General Manager Jay Daniel Santago.
Bilang main maritime gateway sa naturang probinsya, inaasahang makatutulong ang pinalawak na pantalan para sa mas mabisa at komportableng pagpapadala ng mga produkto at biyahero.
Dahil lumaki ang kapasidad nito, kaya nang maserbisyuhan sa pantalan ang 1,500 international at local vessel calls, 1.7 milyong tonelada ng kargamento, at 200,000 pasahero kada taon.
Inaasahan ding makatutulong ang development projects sa cruise-tourism, ekonomiya, komersyo, at trabaho sa probinsya.
Samantala, pinasinayaan din ang Kalayaan Station ng Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) at ipinakita ang bagong air at land assets na magagamit sa kanilang mga operasyon.
