Mga LGU, kailangan sa TUPAD rollout – Bello
Binigyang pagkilala ni Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III ang tungkulin ng mga lokal na pamahalaan sa pagkakasa ng government aid programs para sa mga manggagawa na apektado ng COVID-19.
Sa payout ceremony para Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program sa Imus, Cavite, sinabi ng kalihim na hindi magiging buo ang implementasyon ng kagawaran sa assistance programs kung wala ang tulong ng LGUs.
“I’m very thankful to our leaders from the local government who are helping DOLE extend aid to our needy workers,” ani Bello.
Pumunta ang kalihim sa Baranggay Buhay na Tubig upang pangunahan ang ang pagbibigay ng humigit-kumulang P24 milyon sa TUPAD payouts sa 6,000 manggagawa.
Kabilang ang mga sumusunod na barangay sa mga naging benepisyaryo ng programa: Buhay na Tubig, Alapan II-A, Pag-Asa I, Anabu II-B, Bayan Luma III, Maharlika, Tociong II-A at Magalasang II-B.
Paalala ni Bello sa mga benepisyaryo, “Use them to buy food, medicines and other necessities while the virus is still around.”
Kasama ni Bello sa payout ceremony sina Cavite Rep. Alex Advincula, Imus Mayor Emmanuel Maliksi, councilor Adrian Jay Advincula at iba pa.
