Mga tinamaan ng rabies sa Quezon City bumaba

Malaki ang ibinaba ng mga tinamaan ng rabies sa Quezon City.

Ayon kay Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte, ito ay dahil na pinaigting ng lungsod ang anti-rabies vaccination at animal castration ng City Veterinary Department.

“From being one of the top 10 cities with highest rabies cases in the Philippines in 2018, QC is no longer in the list. That is because of our ramped-up inoculation drives to eradicate the virus from our pets,” pahayag ni Belmonte.

Base sa talaan ng Department of Agriculture – Bureau of Animal Industry (DA-BAI), bumaba ng 65 percent ang rabies cases sa Quezon City mula 2018 hanggang 2019.

Ibig sabihin, mula sa 17 na kaso, naibaba ito sa 8 kaso na lamang.

Nabatid na mula Enero hanggang Setyembre 2021, nakapagbigay na ang City Veterinary Department ng 82,241 anti-rabies shots sa mga hayop at 1,817 naman ang sumailalim sa spay and neuter procedures.
