Bilang ng krimen sa nakalipas na taon, bumaba ng halos 50 porsyento – PNP
Sa nakalipas na limang taon, bumaba ng 49.6 porsiyento ang total crime volume sa bansa, ayon sa pambansang pulisya.
Ang pagbaba ng bilang ng mga insidente ng krimen ay dahil sa 67.76 porsiyento na ibinagsak ng Index Crime cases sa nakalipas na 65 buwan, mula Hulyo 2016 hanggang nitong Setyembre.
Sinabi ni PNP Chief Guillermo Elezar na ang mga datos ay nasa National Crime Environment Report na mula naman sa Crime Information Reporting and Analysis System.
Aniya, mula 2010 hanggang 2015, nakapagtala ng 2.67 milyong crime incidents at ito ay bumaba sa 1.36 milyong kaso mula 2016 hanggang sa taong 2021.
Malaki ang pagbaba sa mga krimen sa Mindanao sa 53.81 porsiyento na kabawasan, samantalang 48.42 porsiyento naman sa Luzon at 45.30 porsiyento sa Visayas.
Ang crimes against person ay bumaba ng 64.68 porsiyento smaantalang 69.91 porsiyento ang ibinaba naman ng crimes against property.
“All these marked improvement in the overall crime picture translate to better security outlook among our people and further adds to upbeat investor confidence that spur economic growth despite the ongoing health crisis,” sabi ni Eleazar.
