DOH: Sapat ang supply ng COVID-19 vaccines para sa ‘booster shots’

Tiniyak ng Department of Health (DOH) na may sapat na suplay ng COVID-19 vaccines sa bansa kapag sinimulan na ang pagtuturok ng booster shots sa mga pili munang populasyon ng bansa.

Sinabi ni Health Undersecretary Ma. Rosario Vergeire milyong-milyong doses ng bakuna ang darating pa sa Pilipinas ngayon taon.

“Actually ang ating vaccine cluster has already announced itong mga parating na bakuna dito sa ating bansa. So starting this November meron na po tayong inaasahan na almost 20 to 25 million doses pa,” sabi ni Vergeire.

Sa huling datos mula sa NTF – COVID 19, simula noong Pebrero hanggang kahapon, 97,678,340 doses na ang dumating sa Pilipinas.

Sa naturang bilang, 56,202,893 doses na ang naiturok.

Nabanggit ni Vergeire, sa rekomendasyon ng World Health Organization (WHO), prayoridad sa booster shots ang mga healthcare workers, senior citizens at immunocompromised.

Nilinaw din niya na kailangan amyendahan ang ibinigay na emergency use authorization ng Food and Drug Administration (FDA) para sa mga COVID 19 vaccines.
