Coconut Trust Fund Act susi sa paglago ng industriya ng niyog – Sen. Cynthia Villar
Kumpiyansa si Senator Cynthia Villar na magiging lubusan na ang paglago ng industriya ng niyog sa bansa dahil sa Coconut Farmers and Industry Fund Act (RA 11524).
Sa Lucena City, personal na iniabot ni Villar kay Pangulong Duterte ang kopya ng batas at ito ay nasaksihan mismo ni Philippine Coconut Administrator Benjamin Madrigal Jr.
Pinasalamatan ni Vilar si Pangulong Duterte sa pagsasabatas nito sa paniniwalang malaking tulong ito sa kabuhayan ng may 3.5 milyong magniniyog sa 68 probinsiya sa buong bansa.
“The coconut trust fund belongs to our coconut farmers and their families. With provision of scholarship for our coconut farmers and their children, an annual allocation of 8% and 10% for health and medical programs on top of Philhealth coverage, I am confident this will improve the quality of lives of our coconut farmers,” ani Villar.
Nakasaad din aniya sa batas ang paglalagay ng Bureau of Treasury ng paunang P10 bilyon sa trust fund sa unang taon hanggang sa P25 bilyon sa panglimang taon.
Bukod dito, may P5 bilyon na maaring gamitin sa ibat-ibang programa para lubos na matulungan ang mga magniniyog mula sa pagtatanim ng hybrid coconut seedlings hanggang sa pagbebenta ng kanilang mga produkto.
