DOH sinabing wala pang kaso ng Delta subvariant sa Pilipinas
Ibinahagi ng Department of Health (DOH) na nagsasagawa na ng biosurveillance sa 46 sublineages ng Delta variant at hanggang sa ngayon ay wala pang kumpirmadong kaso nito sa bansa.
“As of this moment, experts are still studying the potential impact of the Delta sublineage on the transmissibility and severity of COVID 19,” ayon sa DOH.
Sinabi pa ng kagawaran na sa mga na-‘sequenced’ na COVID 19 samples walang nakitaan ng sinasabing AY.4.2.
Ayon kay Usec. Ma. Rosario Vergeire, magkakatulad lang naman na protocols ang ginawa sa lahat ng COVID 19 variants.
“While this is being investigated, we emphasize that regardless of the variant, all COVID 19 cases should be managed similarly as per current protocols. Eace case must be immediately isolated and contact traced upon detection,” sabi ng tagapagsalita ng DOH.
Bago ito may mga naglabasang ulat, ukol sa pagdami ng kaso ng sublinage AY.4.2 sa United Kingdom at iba pang bansa.
Dagdag pa ni Vergeire, ang ‘mutations’ ay bahagi ng natural na proseso sa virus evolution.
