Sen. Gatchalian: Facebook, Shopee, Lazada may pananagutan sa pagbenta ng mga ilegal na produkto
Maaring papanagutin ang electronic commerce o eCommerce platforms, tulad ng Facebook Marketplace, Shopee at Lazada, kung mapapatunayan na nagagamit ang mga ito sa pagbebenta ng mga ilegal na bagay.
Ito ang sinabi ni Sen. Sherwin Gatchalian at aniya magagawa ito sa isinusulong na Internet Transactions Act.
Pahayag ito ng senador kaugnay sa show-cause order, gayundin ang cease and desist order, na inisyu ng National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) matapos madiskubre na iniaalok sa sa tatlong eCommerce platforms ang ‘text blaster machines.’
“The reason why we included the joint and solidary liability in Senate Bill No. 1591 is to make these platforms responsible in protecting the interest of the consumers,” sabi ni Gatchalian, ang principal author ng panukala.
Paliwanag pa niya, layon ng panukala na protektahan ang mga konsyumer laban sa mga mapang-abuso paraan at panloloko sa eCommerce platforms.
