Illegal possession of dangerous drugs case, ikakasa kay Julian Ongpin

Sasampahan ng Department of Justice (DOJ) ng kasong illegal possession of dangerous drugs si Julian Ongpin, anak ni dating Trade Secretary Roberto Ongpin.

Ang kaso, base sa Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (Republic Act 9165), ay walang katapat na piyansa.

Nag-ugat ito sa pagkakadiskubre ng mga lokal na pulis ng San Juan, La Union sa higit 12 gramo ng cocaine sa hotel room na tinutuluyan nina Ongpin at Bree Jonson noong Setyembre 18.

Sa naturang kuwarto, natagpuan ang walang malay na si Jonson, na idineklarang dead on arrival sa isang lokal na opisyal.

Itinuring na ‘person of interest’ ang nakakabatang Ongpin sa kaso ni Jonson, na sinasabing nagpakamatay bagamat hindi ito pinaniniwalaan ng kanyang pamilya.

Kapwa nagpositibo sa paggamit ng cocaine sina Ongpin at Jonson.

Ang impormasyon sa kaso ni Ongpin ay isusumite sa isang korte sa San Fernando City, La Union.
