P35 milyong halaga ng mga smuggled na karne, gulay nasabat ng BOC
Aabot sa P35 milyong galaga ng mga smuggled na gulay mula China ang nakumpiska ng Bureau of Customs sa isang warehouse sa Asuncion Street, Tondo, Manila.
Ayon sa BOC, kabilang sa mga nakumpiska ang yellow onions, luya, red onions, tapioca, flour, sugar, stanchion, cosmetics, at mga sigarilyo.
Sinalakay ng BOC ang warehouse dahil misdeclared at misclassified ang mga kargamento.
Bukod sa warehouse sa Tondo, sinalakay din ng BOC ang isa pang warehouse sa Vifel Storage sa North Bay Boulevard sa Navotas.
Nakuha sa dalawang storage facilitys na may 31 cold storage rooms ang mga imported at smuggled na ulo ng baka, paa ng manok, ataay, mga prutas at San Miguel Corporation products at mga expired na karne at isda.
Nabatid na isang alyas Lei Tsai at mga kasamahan nito ang responsible sa pagpasok sa mga smuggled na produkto sa bansa.
