Taiwanese na 17 taon nang wanted, huli sa Quezon
Naaresto ng mga tauhan ng Bureau of Immigration (BI) ang isang Taiwanese national na 17 taon nang wanted dahil sa tangkang pagpatay sa kababayan.
Base sa ulat kay Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente, nahuli ng BI Fugitive Search Unit (FSU) ang dayuhang si Huang Kuan-I, 53-anyos, sa Real, Quezon Lunes ng umaga (October 11).
Armado ng Warrant of Deportation ang mga awtoridad base sa natanggap na impormasyon mula sa Taiwanese authorities.
Nahaharap si Huang sa warrant na inilabas ng Hualien prosecutor’s office sa Taiwan noong 2004.
“Aside from being an undesirable alien, he will also be deported for being an undocumented alien because his passport already expired in February 2019 and has not been renewed since,” saad ni BI-FSU Acting Chief Rendel Ryan Sy.
Overstaying na rin aniya ang dayuhan dahil sa tangkang pagtakas sa kaso.
“He fled to the Philippines a year before a Taiwanese judge sentenced him to eight years in prison for attempted murder,” ani Sy.
Nakakulong si Huang sa BI Warden Facility sa Taguig City habang hinihintay ang implementasyon ng deportation nito.
Mapapabilang din ang nasabing dayuhan sa immigration blacklist at hindi na maaring makapasok ng bansa.
