Naghain na si Deputy Speaker Neptali “Boyet” M. Gonzales II ng kaniyang certificate of candidacy (COC) para sa reelection bilang representante ng Mandaluyong City, araw ng Miyerkules (October 6).
Sa pamamagitan ng kaniyang chief of staff Al Abainza, naghain si Gonzales, ng COC sa Commission on Elections (Comelec) National Capital Region (NCR) office sa Manila bandang 8:46 ng umaga.
Ayon kay Gonzales, kabilang sa mga prayoridad niya ang mas maayos na healthcare system at job generation para sa 19th Congress.
“I will relentlessly pursue the continuity of my compassionate and responsive programs to the needs of my constituents and betterment of Mandaluyong City in this time of COVID-19 (coronavirus disease-19) pandemic,” pahayag ng mambabatas.
Nagsilbi si Gonzales bilang Majority Leader noong 11th, 12th, 15th at 16th Congress.
Nagpasalamat naman ang mambabatas sa mga residente ng Mandaluyong City para sa tiwala at kumpiyansa sa kaniya para sa halos tatlong dekadang serbisyo publiko.
“With our family’s long tradition and brand of effective, orderly and clean governance, my commitment of providing excellent public service will continue with compassion for the people,” saad nito.
Samantala, naghain na rin ng COC si National Unity Party (NUP) President Elpidio “Pidi” Barzaga, Jr. bilang kongresista ng representante ng Lone District ng Dasmariñas City, Cavite.
Pangako ni Barzaga, “to continue the delivery of an improved healthcare system, peace and order and generate jobs” na kabilang sa kaniyang mga prayoridad sa gitna ng COVID-19 pandemic.
