2022 national budget version ng Senado prayoridad ang COVID 19 response – Sen. Angara

Tiniyak ni Senator Sonny Angara na ang bersyon ng Senado sa 2022 national budget ay tutugon sa mga epekto ng pandemya.

Ayon kay Angara maraming mahahalagang bagay na may kaugnayan sa COVID 19 response ang hindi isinama ng Malakanyang sa hinihinging pambansang pondo para sa susunod na taon.

“Funds are very tight this year because as noted by our colleagues during the DBCC, parang hindi COVID budget yung sinabmit po ng DBM because there were no funds for contact tracing, no funds for testing outside of the booster shot, no funds for the testing of the 12 to 17 year olds, no funds for contact tracing, no funds for the SRA, the Special Risk Allowance of our health workers,” sabi ng namumuno sa Senate Finance Committee.

Sa pagdinig para sa 2022 budget ng Department of the Interior and Local Government, sinabi ni Angara na malaking hamon ang pagbalanse sa mga interes at pangangailangan ng mga ahensiya at sa kinakailangan pondo para harapin ang pandemya.

Aniya batid naman nila ang mga hinihinging dagdag pondo ng mga ahensiya ngunit sadyang kailangan na pagtibayin ang pagtugon sa isyung pangkalusugan.

“With the understanding of the department and all the other agencies, those will be our utmost priorities going into 2022. Yung health response po ng bansa, because that’s our very existence under threat,” sabi pa nito.
