Mandaluyong City Mayor Menchie Abalos bababa sa pagka-vice mayor, biyenan balik-pulitika

Makalipas ang 14 taon susubukan ni dating Comelec Chairman Benjamin Abalos Sr., na makabalik sa mundo ng pulitika.

Naghain ng certificate of candidacy (COC) si Abalos para sa pagka-alkalde ng Mandaluyong City, samantalang ang kanyang manugang na si Mayor Menchie Abalos ay tatakbo sa pagka-vice mayor.

Ang pagtakbo ng mag-biyenan ay pagtupad sa pangako sa namayapang Corazon Abalos, may-bahay ng nakakatandang Abalos, namatay dahil sa COVID 19 noong nakaraang Enero.

“I have made the last promise to my wife to spend the remaining years of my life to serve the Mandaleños once again, in honor of her. My passion to serve the Mandaleños doesn’t stop even if I was out of the political sphere for the past 14 years. With all the experiences I had when I was a mayor and a member of the Cabinet and my personal experience during this pandemic, I know that I can usher the city to its healing, recovery, and the shift towards new normal – creating the perfect balance to protect the public health and revive the economy,” sabi ni Abalos Sr.

Ayon naman kay Mayor Abalos nagbigay daan siya sa kanyang biyenan para bigyan katuparan ang pangako nito sa namayapang biyenan.

Aniya tutulungan niya ang biyenang lalaki para matiyak na makakasabay ang lungsod sa ‘new normal.’
