Pinili ng Opposition coalition na 1Sambayan si Vice President Leni Robredo bilang presidential candidate para sa 2022 national elections.
Inanunsiyo ito ni Retired Senior Associate Justice Antonio Carpio, lead convenor ng grupo, sa pamamagitan ng Facebook live.
“1Sambayan is pleased to announce to the nation that it has reached a decision to endorse Vice President Leni Robredo as its presidential candidate for the May 2022 elections,” saad nito.
Dagdag nito, “1Sambayan followed a rigorous process in reaching its decision. We consulted our local and foreign chapters as well as our partners together with our three million members.”
Pinagbasehan aniya ng grupo ang ilang criteria para sa naging desisyon; “integrity, competence track record, patriotism, vision for our country, and winnability.”
“We therefore ask VP Leni to accept our endorsement to lead the Filipino people in these difficult times in our history,” ayon pa kay Carpio.
Sa ngayon, hindi pa naglalabas ng pinal na desisyon si Robredo kung tatakbo siya 2022 elections o hindi.
