Flight routes ng Zamboanga Airport sa Southeast Asia, lalawak na
Matapos makumpleto ang development projects, inaasahang mapapalawak ang flight routes ng Zamboanga International Airport patungo at mula sa iba’t ibang desitnasyon sa Southeast Asia.
Ayon kay Transportation Secretary Art Tugade, handa na ang naturang paliparan sa international operations.
Maari na rin aniyang masimulan ang international flight expansion kasabay ng approval ng Zamboanga-Kuala Lumpur flights.
“The airport can start international operations through the Zamboanga-Manila-Kota Kinabalu route but we have to wait for our Malaysian counterpart for the Zamboanga-Kota Kinabalu flight,” saad nito.
Dagdag pa ng kalihim, oras na makapagsumite ng Philippine Airlines (PAL) ng proposal para sa international flight accommodation sa iba pang Southeast Asian nations, maari na ring makapagsimula ng operasyon ng PAL sa naturang paliparan.
Sinabi ni PAL Senior Assistant Vice President for Philippine Sales Harry Inoferio na kabilang sa international flight destinations ang Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; Jakarta, Indonesia; Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam; at Bangkok, Thailand.
Ani Inoferio, kapag lumuwag na ang quarantine restrictions sa Pilipinas at iba pang bansa, sisimulan nang ma-accommodate ng PAL ang international flights sa fourth quarter ng 2022.
“‘Yung regional flights natin, kung sakali, ‘yung flights galing—pwedeng Kuala Lumpur, pwedeng Jakarta, pwedeng Saigon (Ho Chi Minh) at Bangkok. Depende sa takbo ng preparation. Marami kasing protocols, requirement ngayon,” paliwanag nito.
Tiniyak naman ni Tugade na maliban sa nakumpletong proyekto, may iba pang development projects na aasikasuhin ang CAAP upang lalo pang mapabuti at dumami ang ma-aaccommodate na international flights sa Zamboanga International Airport.
Kabilang sa katatapos lang na development projects sa naturang paliparan ang expansion ng runway nito, apron at taxiway.
